DAILY AZTEC - STAFF WRITER
August 2022 - May 2024
After transferring to San Diego State University, I served as a staff writer for the Daily Aztec, covering sports. My job mostly was that of a beat writer, pitching story ideas, gathering info, interviewing sources, and writing articles for both print and online publication.
MESA PRESS - SPORTS EDITOR & EDITOR-IN-CHIEF
August 2020 - December 2021
My community college's publication. I served as Sports Editor and eventually Editor-In-Chief. Responsibilities as the Sports Editor included writing and editing any sports articles that come my way. I also wrote my own articles for other sections, but mostly edited. I use Adobe InDesign for layout for our print. This role was increased when I became EIC, as I overlooked all sections of the paper, and was in contact with our printing press making sure print went smoothly. Worked with section editors to assign articles, and if anyone had any questions, they came to me. Continued to be oversight and had final editing remarks before final drafts were printed.
UCHSÂ COMMANDERÂ - NEWS EDITOR
August 2019 - June 2020
I worked on my high school's publication, the Commander, as the News Editor. I edited all news articles for the print, as well as wrote articles for my section and others. I assisted my editing partner in layout and made sure printing day went smoothly.
